Fourteen people have been charged in connection with a prostitution sting in South Portland, according to South Portland police. Officers devised the sting to crack down on human trafficking by targeting the clients, who they say drive the demand for this illegal industry. Load Error "We're trying to combat human trafficking whatever way we can and we're trying to work on the demand side of it," said South Portland Det. David Stailing. "If there's no demand for it, then hopefully it will go away.
