Brianna Soukup/Staff Photographer MaineHousing on Thursday announced it has awarded $16.3 million to 17 housing and shelter projects across the state, including a new 280-bed shelter in Portland. The funding, which is part of a winter energy relief plan approved by Gov. Janet Mills and the Maine Legislature in January, includes $4 million for a project from the Center for Regional Prosperity for a large new shelter in Portland.
